We are two chicks who were about at the end of our ropes in the stress department. So we hopped on some yoga mats and learned a new way to live. We found our breath, and we want to help others do the same.
Anna is a stay at home mom of three who, despite having had a variety of jobs in the past, finds her current gig to be the most challenging yet. Yoga allows her to be kind to herself, engage in the moment, stretch her body and clear her mind – all at the same time! Through Pretty Zen, she hopes to share with others the peace and clarity yoga has given her.
Anna graduated from Rhodes College with a B. A. in Creative Writing and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Christian Brothers University.
Chanda is a full-time college professor and mother of one. When her health told her that she had to find a better way to manage stress and anxiety or else, she found yoga. She is passionate about the positive impact of yoga and mindfulness, and co-founding Pretty Zen gives her the opportunity to promote the slower, healthier lifestyle she now enjoys.
Chanda graduated from Christian Brothers University with a B. A. in Psychology and earned her PhD at the University of Memphis in Experimental Psychology. Her research focuses on employee performance, job satisfaction and the positive effects of workplace meditation.
Anna and Chanda completed their RYT 200-hour yoga certifications at Pike Yoga in Germantown, TN. They were trained by Kim Anderson and Tamara McColgan of True Yoga East.
